We took dance lessons with Ashley to learn a first dance for our wedding to a song that meant a lot to us. We knew we didn’t want something fully choreographed, but something more than just swaying. From the first lesson, Ashley made us feel confident, comfortable, and more in love through the art of dance. We had such a fun date night every 2 weeks leading up to the wedding, and Ashley helped us create the most perfect first dance - even fulfilling my husband’s wishes of a lift/spin! Ashley, thank you for making me feel more confident in my own abilities, and for bringing us closer through this gift of our first dance that we will cherish forever. We have been going to Lakeside for about 8 months now once a week for lessons. Adam and Ashley are the nicest people you will ever meet and they make you feel like family. Our weekly dance lesson is our date night and after we finish it up, we are in the best moods. It is a great workout and teaches you to expand your comfort zone and makes you confident to get up and dance at social events. If you ever thought about starting to dance or already have experience, don't hesitate to contact them and use their services. Next year we are getting married and our first dance is going to be AMAZING! I should also state that, as a man, at first I was completely against doing dance lessons. From the very beginning, Ashley was patient, encouraging, and incredibly talented at breaking everything down in a way that made learning feel natural and fun. She is truly a wonderful teacher. We decided to do some last-minute dance lessons before our wedding that just happened on September 21st 2024. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 4 lessons with Ashley. She was very, very professional and patient with us as both of us are beginners to dance. She gave us a first dance that felt very us and also flowed so well with our first dance song. She challenged us to practice, which allowed us to make time for eachother while wedding planning is so demanding. We would absolutely recommend anybody wanting or on the fence about taking lessons before your first dance at your wedding … DO IT. Truthfully, it was so much fun and we had a great time! If you’re already married such a fun date night we went and got food after our classes and chatted enjoying eachothers company🤍 Thank you Ashley at Lakeside Dance!! ~ Tara A

A studio close to the beaches of Innisfil, its quiet demeanour belies the energy within. As a first time dancer, I can list the following with great certainty… PROS: Adam and Ashley are patient as you learn. There is a great deal of support for dancers be they new or old. Various styles, from country line dancing to salsa and more are available as their repertoire is diverse and elegant. The cost for lessons is well within reason. They help you step out of your comfort zone and show you the ability you never thought you had. CONS: To date, none have been found. No point looking. lol Conclusion: A studio I would highly recommend for social gatherings, wedding dances, couples, or one on training. ~ Kenneth F

My husband and I took a private lesson because it's something we've always wanted to do together! In pretty much no time at all (and a true testament to Ashley's teaching skills), we were moving around the dance floor! Not only did we learn steps, but we grew closer together AND just had so so so many beautiful blessings in our time there. It really is MORE than just steps! For us, it feels like a new start, a lightness and a JOY that we tapped into that improves our already amazing relationship to new heights! PLUS, now when we watch our favourite dancing show, we can recognize the steps and pretend we're experts ;) BONUS! We will DEFINITELY be back (when we left, my husband actually asked me when we'd be able to book more time aside to dance again!). Do yourself a favour and book time to DANCE! We worked with Ashley to create our first dance for our destination wedding. Both my husband and I had no partner dance experience and we wanted to surprise our guests. Ashley choreographed our dance, and we had an absolute blast learning to dance together through all the wedding planning stress. Coming to class became a highlight of our week. Ashley was patient, listened, and learned how both of us learned best so we could take corrections and perfect our routine. We came away from each class feeling happy, excited and confident, which is a testament to Ashley and her ability to teach. I cannot recommend Lakeside enough for any couple looking to not just learn a dance but spend some quality time together doing something new. Adam and Ashley are wonderful instructors. I came to my lessons with a some background in ballet and jazz having never partnered with anyone before. Now after 8 months I am much more confident with this ability. Not only do I have my private lessons with Adam, but the group lessons and practice parties give me the chance to partner with other students. I feel that the combination of structured lessons and the more laid back approach to the practice parties helps to build my confidence as a student. Even if someone has no dance background, they would be able to pick up the dance patterns no problem with this approach. I recommend anyone considering learning ballroom or latin to try it at least once, but hopefully more than once. :) Adam and Ashley will make you feel very comfortable, whatever your dance level. ~ Kerri L

One of the best decisions we made for our wedding was choosing Lakeside Dance to choreograph our first dance. I hadn’t taken dance classes since I was a child and my husband had never taken dance classes, yet Ashley made us feel so incredibly supported and comfortable throughout the entire experience. The dance she choreographed was beautiful, and something we never would’ve thought we would be capable of, but she got us there! The dance lessons quickly became something we looked forward to as a fun date night out, and something we plan to continue for fun in our marriage. Choose Lakeside Dance, even if you have a commute!! I never thought I could learn how to dance. It doesn’t come to me naturally, and I always felt awkward doing it, but I thought I’d give it a try anyway. I’ve been taking private Salsa lessons with Ashley for 6 months now and even I notice the huge improvement. It unlocks more to life when you have the confidence to dance at a wedding and have fun doing it instead of stressing. Ashley has been awesome to work with - a true pro. She knows exactly when to push me outside of my comfort zone and when to focus on the details. I can’t recommend this place enough. My partner and I participated in the wedding workshop with Ashley and it was fantastic! She is so warm and welcoming and made everyone feel comfortable. After a kind introduction allowing participants to get settled, she got right down to business and began teaching. She taught us many great fundamental steps to put in our repertoire (including a dip, a spin, a little bit of a more dramatic moment), so we could craft our first dance for our wedding day. In one lesson, she taught us so many different things, and in such a comprehensive way for each dancer. We were allowed practice time and she continuously gave us pointers. It gave us a great time to connect and work together as a pair. We had such success in our lesson and happily booked a private lesson to follow. I absolutely recommend Lakeside Dance Studio! I recently had the pleasure of being a part of the Easter Seals Dancing with the Stars event at Liberty North in Barrie, Ontario, where Lakeside Dance in Innisfil played a crucial role. They dedicated eight weeks to training eight of us in the art of disco dancing, culminating in a fantastic group performance. Adam and Ashley, the instructors at Lakeside Dance, were exceptional. Their dedication, expertise, and patience made the learning process enjoyable and rewarding. They went above and beyond to ensure we were confident and ready for the event. My husband and I love to dance, and for years we talked about taking lessons but between kids, jobs and other commitments we just couldn’t find the time. Well fast forward to now. Our son and his now wife worked with Lakeside to choreograph their wedding dance. Lakeside also choreographed the father daughter dance. Both were so beautiful. My husband and I have now taken their Intro to Salsa and their Intro to Line Dancing!! We’re off to the Taboo Dance Retreat next weekend and will be booking couples dance lessons next. We’re hooked! My husband and I decided we wanted to do something unique and different for our first dance at our wedding. We were both nervous as we are not very good dancers and knew nothing about the tango, but we immediately felt comfortable from the moment we met Ashley and Adam. They choreographed a beautiful tango dance to the song we had picked for ourselves. Our dance was a huge hit at the wedding and was one of the highlights of our wedding day for sure. Working with Adam was one of the highlights of our wedding preparation. From the very first lesson, he made us feel comfortable and confident, turning something we were initially nervous about into an experience we truly enjoyed! His patience, clear instructions, and encouragement made learning each step feel natural. I just finished the 4-week beginner line dancing lessons at Lakeside Dance Studio, and it was such a fantastic experience! It was the perfect introduction to line dancing—fun, welcoming, and easy to follow, even for someone with no prior dance experience. The instructor Ashley was absolutely incredible: patient, energetic, and really great at breaking down each step. It quickly became something I looked forward to every Wednesday night! Ashley coached me and was my dance partner at the Dancing With The Stars Easter Seal event last evening. Ashley the magician converted the man with 2 left feet to a mean dancing machine. I started off nervous but she quickly made me feel confident. She exudes tremendous enthusiasm and covered my mistakes. Ashley is a tremendous teacher and makes everyone very comfortable, no matter their dancing talent. I know Adam was as outstanding with the women he coached. A better dance studio does not exist. Ashley was a fantastic instructor and worked with us through a few injuries (we are accident prone people who think sports are great right before a wedding lol) to make our wedding dance perfect. She designed great choreography for our song! They have an inclusive space, warm and friendly atmosphere, and even went overtime on a few sessions when we needed to perfect something. She took some videos of us so we could reference them to practice on our own time as well. She clearly is passionate about her work and wants every couple to look and feel their best. We decided to take dance lessons for our first dance as we didn’t want to do your typical sway. I stumbled upon lakeside dance and booked an introduction class to see what it was all about as neither of us are very good dancers. I was blown away by Ashley and her Ableness to teach us so much in the short 1 hour class, we left there and immediately booked the rest of our classes. We enjoyed every single one of them! Ashley taught us a fun dance that blew everyone’s minds at our wedding! I will recommend them for anyone wanting to learn and will definitely be booking again to learn a different dance! ~ Carley R

My husband and I took private classes at Lakeside dance studio to help us learn a cheorgraphed first dance for our wedding. Ashley was AMAZING! She cheorgraphed a 3+ min dance for us that was half venetian waltz and half salsa. She was an excellent teacher, calm, patient and observant. Offered excellent suggestions and corrections in a way that is very easy and understandable, even for non dancers! (Such as ourselves) We wowed our guests at our wedding and would highly recommend lakeside dance for someone who wants a cheorgraphed dance, or guidance on how to dance in general. Thank you for helping us ensure our first dance was a success. We are so happy to report it definitely was!! It’s amazing how I went from having zero ability to dance to actually loving to dance. My partner and I now randomly dance together in the house all the time and are now happy to be able to dance to any song together, no matter the occasion. Taking lessons at Lakeside Dance has been a totally wonderful experience!! Adam and Ashley are excellent instructors and are so very encouraging to beginners. My husband and I initially signed up for the 3 lesson intro package for different reasons...My reason for signing up... I love dancing and wanted to build confidence and have somewhere to go on a regular basis. My husband's reason for signing up... he just loves me and wants to keep me happy. At first, he was actually very apprehensive, but after the intro sessions were done, he was so comfortable, that we signed up for regular lessons. In addition to the weekly lessons, we love the dance parties that are offered every other week! We are not only learning steps, but we're also learning how to dance and recognize songs in a group setting. Coming to Lakeside Dance studio has been a perfect date night! Thankyou, Adam! I have been wanting to try dancing but have been very hesitant to try as I didn’t know what to expect. Going through the website I was able to get a good idea on what to expect in my dance lessons. My girlfriend and I went for 2 30 minute privet lessons and loved it! This was a promotion at the time. Adam our coach is in my opinion the very definition of professional customer service! He took great care to find out what kind of dance we might be interested in learning and when we might use each dance in our life’s. He is really patient and does a fantastic job in showing us the various steps and explaining why those steps. I was able to get a deeper understanding of the actual dance style. verses just memorizing the steps to the dance. We both have signed up for more lessons and are really excited to keep learning with Adam. I highly recommend Lakeside Dance if you are looking for a new hobby or need to learn for a special occasion. ~ Christoph B

We started dancing again as more of a weekly date night and now our love of dance has been renewed. We have taken lessons at other studios but find the method they use at Lakeside Dance easier to follow and more enjoyable. The way they teach you the dance steps and link them to the other dances makes it easier to remember the steps. We look forward to our dance lesson each week and the practice parties that are offered are a great way for us to get out and dance and meet other people who share our love of dance.
